A traditional recipe from Latin America, ceviche is a seafood salad served with tortilla chips, only as a main dish or as an accompaniment.


Number of people: 12
750 g raw gambas or shrimps
450 g scallops or scallops
6 large limes, squeezed
1 big lemon, squeezed
1 small pink onion, chopped
1 cucumber, peeled and cutre
1 large tomato, chopped
1 jalapeño pepper or other green pepper, chopped
1 serrano pepper or other green pepper, chopped
1 bunch of fresh coriander, chopped
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of salt

Method of preparation

Preparation time: 15minutes > Extra time: 1 hour in the refrigerator > Ready in: 1hour 15minutes

  1. In a bowl, pour the juice of the lemons (green and yellow) on the prawns and scallops.
  2. Add onion, cucumber, tomato, peppers, coriander, olive oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour until the seafood is opaque.

It is the acidity of the lemons that “cooks” the seafood. You can add all kinds of seafood and fish to this preparation, such as seabass, squid, crab, halibut and tuna.

Too spicy?
Seed the peppers for a less spicy result!
