Who says spaghetti recipe necessarily says Italian pasta. And who thinks Italian pasta thinks necessarily spaghetti carbonara. So if you have friends who make you a surprise visit and some eggs on hand, boil a pot of water, and cook this simple recipe in joy and dolce vita.
PREPARATION GUIDE: SPAGHETTIS CARBONARA WITH CREAM
-400 g spaghetti
-200 g diced ham or smoked ham matches
-50 g grated Parmesan cheese
-1 egg yolk
-10 cl of cream
-10 g of butter
Start by boiling a large pot of saltwater, then dip the spaghetti, and cook al dente (they should remain slightly crunchy). Meanwhile, fry the ham in dice or matches in a pan with the butter, without coloring it.
As soon as the spaghetti is cooked, strain it on the fire and put it back in the bottom of the pot, and add the ham, the cream, and the egg yolks. Mix, add pepper (and salt if necessary), then serve hot in soup plates, with the grated cheese available.
To enhance the taste of your pasta dish, add a touch of nutmeg. And if you want your spaghetti recipe to be more traditionally Italian, use pancetta instead, and replace the cream with an extra egg yolk.
