Cannelloni with Sicilian

-1 cannelloni box
-500 g ground beef or pork
-2 onions
-1 jar of tomato sauce
-1 can of tomato paste
-1 jar of tomato coulis
-50 g grated cheese (Gruyere or Parmesan cheese)
-2 nice pinches of paprika powder
-2 tbsp. tablespoon of olive oil
-butter for the dish
-salt and pepper to taste


Preheat the oven to 180 ° C or th. 6. Peel and finely slice the onions. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over high heat. When the olive oil is hot, place the chopped onions in the pan and cook for 3 minutes or until translucent. Then add the ground beef and continue cooking for about 10 minutes, stirring well. Salt and pepper according to your tastes.

Once the minced meat is cooked, add the coulis and tomato paste as well as the paprika powder in the pan, lower the heat over low heat and cook for a few minutes stirring frequently. Then remove the pan from the heat and reserve.

Boil a large volume of water in a second saucepan over high heat. After boiling, immerse the cannelloni in boiling water and let them cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until they are al dente. When they are cooked, drain the cannelloni in a strainer and set aside.

Butter a baking dish. Stuff the drained cannelloni with the meat preparation, using a small spoon, and place them next to each other in the bottom of the dish. Pour the tomato sauce over the cannelloni in the dish, then sprinkle with grated cheese.

Bake the dish in the preheated oven and cook for about 25 minutes or until the grated cheese on the surface is golden brown. Serve these hot Sicilian cannelloni on the plates. Enjoy this pasta dish without waiting with a seasoned green salad.
